Hey, Don’t Treat Facebook Like It’s Google.

DirectMail2.0 launched its Facebook product in June 2017.

Since its launch, we’ve noticed some users have tried to make their Google Ads work for Facebook with only slight changes.

This tactic will simply not work.

This misconception has gotten our client’s ads disproved, more times that we’d like to admit.

Even worse…

Some of these ads will get approved by Facebook, but perform terribly.

But rather than pasting a link on our website, I want to walk it through with you and highlight the most important points.

1.Learn the structure of a Facebook ad by heart.

 

 2.Use Quality Images.

 Images should be bright and bold. Your goal is to get attention!

Keep it clean and avoid a busy look.

Most people will be viewing your ad on their mobile devices so the image will be about 1.5” wide – keep that in mind when designing your image.

Here’s the most important part:

KEEP THE TEXT TO A MINIMUM!

Ideally, you’ll want to keep your images’ text to less than 20% of the image space. In other words, 2-3 words per image.

DON’T try to cram your entire offer, contact information, and website into the image. All this information should go in “Section 2, 3 or 5” (Look into Step #1 of this article to see what I’m referring to)

Check out this example of a good ad:

  • Clear image.
  • Clear offer
  • Clear explanation of what the company does.
  • Attractive Image with no text.

And now, let’s take a look at a bad example of an ad.

  • Too much text
  • Repetitive links
  • Text on the image

3.KISS it….Keep it Stupid, Simple!

Make your headline clear.

Make sure your Call to Action will motivate people to take action.  It must be compelling.

Focus on the benefits of your product, not on its features.

Use emotion not logic!

I’m sure you’ve heard all of these before, but they MUST never be forgotten for effective marketing to happen.

There is obviously a lot that can go into an ad, but if you make sure that at least these 3 basics are covered, then you should be good.

Let’s be real:

You want your ad to have results- not just to get it approved by Facebook!
